WHERE TEAK COMES FROM

From South Asia. Crafted by hand.

One wood has been trusted for centuries. One craft has shaped it with care. We source directly from the forests — no shortcuts, no middlemen.

Teak forest origin

Sustainably harvested teak — one of the world's most durable natural materials

01 · THE WOOD

Teak from Southeast Asia

Grown in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, teak is naturally dense, water-resistant, and built to last generations.

02 · THE CRAFT

Shaped by skilled hands

Every utensil is carved and finished by craftspeople who have worked with teak wood for generations. No machines. No shortcuts.

03 · THE PROMISE

Sustainably sourced. Always.

Harvested responsibly, finished without chemicals, shipped directly to you. What's in your kitchen should be as natural as your food.

"My grandfather carved teak with the same tools I use today. The wood hasn't changed. Neither have we."

The difference

What you get with the Teak Column.

Not all utensil holders are created equal. Here's why it matters where your everyday cooking tools live.

Teak & Grain Others
Sustainably sourced solid teak
Carved from responsibly harvested premium wood, offering a rich countertop aesthetic rather than cheap, mass-produced plastic or wire racks.
Heavy, tip-proof base
Solid teak provides a naturally weighted foundation. You can load it up with your heaviest ladles and whisks without it constantly tipping over like lightweight plastic bins.
Naturally moisture & mold resistant
Teak’s high concentration of natural oils actively repels water from freshly washed tools. Plastic and bamboo holders easily trap moisture and grow mold at the bottom.
Toxin & microplastic free
Every time you drop a utensil into a plastic holder, it scrapes the bottom. With the Teak Column, you never risk getting scraped microplastics onto the tools you use to cook your food.
Shatterproof durability
Accidents happen in a busy kitchen. If knocked off the counter, solid teak bounces back, while popular ceramic and glass crocks shatter into dangerous pieces.
30-day risk-free trial
Try it on your counter for 30 days. If it isn't a massive upgrade to your kitchen, we'll issue a full refund—and you don't even have to ship it back to us.
PLASTIC & CERAMIC TEAK & GRAIN

Standard crocks trap stagnant water and breed mold; solid teak naturally repels moisture.

What it fixes

What lives at the bottom
of your utensil crock.
You'd be surprised.

Plastic and ceramic holders might look clean on the counter, but their non-porous bottoms trap water from freshly washed tools, creating a dark breeding ground for mold and bacteria. Solid teak is different. Its natural oils actively repel water, keeping your cooking tools clean and dry.

Moisture & Mold Resistant
Teak’s high concentration of natural oils repels water, preventing the stagnant pooling and mold growth common in everyday holders.
Heavy, Tip-Proof Base
Solid teak provides a naturally weighted foundation. Load it up with your heaviest ladles and whisks without it constantly tipping over.
No Microplastics
Dropping utensils into a plastic holder scrapes the bottom. Teak ensures no plastic shavings end up on the tools you use to cook your food.
Shatterproof Durability
Accidents happen in a busy kitchen. If knocked off the counter, solid teak bounces back, while ceramic and glass crocks shatter.

Care guide

A holder that lasts a lifetime.
If you treat it like one.

Teak is naturally water-resistant and incredibly resilient. A little care goes a long way — here's everything you need to know.

Step 01
Wash occasionally
Use warm water and mild dish soap to remove dust or cooking splatters. Wash by hand — never in the dishwasher.
Step 02
Dry completely
Wipe out the interior and let it air dry completely before refilling. Trapped moisture at the bottom is the enemy.
Step 03
Oil every few months
Apply food-grade mineral oil inside and out to maintain its rich color and natural moisture-repelling barrier.
Step 04
Store thoughtfully
Keep it safely on your counter, away from direct stove heat or sitting in puddles next to the sink.
Never do this
  • Put it in the dishwasher
  • Let water pool inside the bottom
  • Place it directly touching a hot stove
  • Use olive or vegetable oil — they go rancid
Always do this
  • Give tools a quick shake before putting them in
  • Hand wash with mild soap when it gets dusty
  • Let the interior dry completely after washing
  • Oil occasionally with food-grade mineral oil

Everyday pro-tip: While teak naturally resists moisture, no wood loves standing water. Giving freshly washed whisks and spatulas a quick wipe or shake before dropping them back into your Teak Column ensures it stays beautiful for decades.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about the Teak Column before you order.

01 How many utensils can it hold?
The Teak Column is designed with a generous interior capacity. It comfortably holds 12-15 everyday cooking tools—from bulky ladles and thick-handled spatulas to whisks and wooden spoons—without crowding or tangling.
02 Can I put it in the dishwasher?
No — and this is important. The dishwasher will ruin any solid wood product, including teak. The heat and prolonged moisture exposure will cause the wood to crack and warp. Hand wash the interior and exterior occasionally with warm water and mild soap, dry it completely, and it will last decades.
03 Will it tip over if I put heavy tools in it?
Not at all. Solid teak is naturally dense and heavy. We designed the Teak Column with a weighted, tip-proof base that stays firmly planted on your counter, even when loaded with top-heavy stainless steel ladles or large whisks.
04 Is teak really better than a ceramic or plastic crock?
Yes. Plastic and ceramic holders have non-porous bottoms that trap water from freshly washed tools, creating a dark breeding ground for mold and bacteria. Teak’s high concentration of natural oils actively repels moisture. Plus, dropping tools into a plastic holder scrapes microplastics directly onto your cooking utensils—teak is 100% natural.
05 How often do I need to oil it?
Every few months is enough for standard use. When your Teak Column first arrives, oiling it conditions the wood and reinforces its moisture-repelling barrier. Use food-grade mineral oil or a dedicated board cream — never olive or vegetable oil, which go rancid inside the wood.
06 What does "sustainably sourced" actually mean?
Our teak is sourced from responsibly managed plantations — not old-growth forests. Plantation teak is grown specifically for harvest, which means no deforestation and a fully replenishable supply. Every piece comes from wood that was grown with its end use in mind.
07 How does the 30-day trial work?
Put it on your counter for 30 days and load it up with your everyday tools. If it isn't a massive upgrade to your kitchen's aesthetic and organization, contact us within 30 days of delivery. We will issue a full refund, and you don't even have to ship it back to us. No returns required, zero hassle.
08 My holder got scratched by a metal whisk — what do I do?
Fine surface marks are part of using real wood. However, if scratches bother you, simply lightly sand the surface with 220-grit sandpaper, wipe away the dust, and apply a fresh coat of mineral oil. It'll look nearly brand new. This is something you can never do with scratched plastic or chipped ceramic!
